The Varsity

It’s now my 4th day here in Atlanta and officially my second to the last day. Time moves so fast when you’re super busy and just enjoying your work. Today the weather was a bit fickle as it rained for a little bit this morning and was a bit on and off. I wanted another productive start to my day and decided to go for another hike but this time along the Atlanta Beltline which was a beautiful trail.

I had to reward myself with a cup of matcha after the long walk and luckily, I ended up finding just the perfect spot. Just add honey tea company was just right around at the end of the trail. The tea house looked nice and was very inviting. I ordered a cup of matcha and a butter croissant for my breakfast. The matcha was tasty and the croissant was so soft and buttery which was a perfect day to start my meal.

After I got my morning kickstarter with my nature trail and matcha I was ready for today’s activities to begin. Now, I was feeling hungry, and I knew that I still haven’t visited Atlanta’s favorite fast-food joint. The Varsity located at 61 North Avenue NW has been on my bucket list for quite some time now. Recommended by most of my sailor friends who’ve passed by here before made me eagerly want to try it.

The place was packed right when they opened at 11 am which is always a good indicator of the food. Instead of trying a house combo I opted to build my own with 1 glorified bacon cheeseburger and 1 chili dog along with a side of fries. They both were equally good and tasty but the fries I felt could have been better.

The chili dog was my favorite and next time I will be ordering the chili cheeseburger as well with a root beer float ☺
