Gitano Miami

It’s been a fun past few days here in Miami and I haven’t had time to visit many restaurants as I’ve been quite busy with work but tonight is exciting. We are off to have dinner at Gitano Miami.

Situated inside the Casa Faena located at 3500 Collins Avenue, I have been wanting to come here for quite some time now and am happy that I’m able to do so tonight. Our reservation was at 7:30 pm and we got in time as the crowd was starting to arrive.

The motif of the place was super cool and chill, the vibe like what is in Tulum. The colors and decorations very much fit the theme of the space. The plants, lights and music as well give out a positive energy that sets the tone for the meal. As we were ushered by the hostess to our table, I was impressed with the layout of the dining room as well and how the tables were neatly set up.

The cocktail and wine list are well put together as I browse through the menu and the food most importantly is well balanced as well. I started with the jungle fever cocktail to start the evening and some avocado chips.

The corn chips were super crisp, and the avocado was nice and fresh. Perfect way to start our meal and it was great that the server knew every detail as well.

The tuna tostada was our next dish, and this was phenomenal, by far my favorite. The tuna was sliced thin and cured well and the dish just had amazing flavors.

The queso fondido followed and it was excellent as well. It had the right balance of spice and saltiness with it.

For our entrée we had the pork chops al pastor, which were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was on point.

Overall, this was an amazing experience, and I would definitely come back for more Gitano next time…
