Surf Club

My first evening here back in Miami and I am so excited for where I’m having dinner tonight, at Surf Club restaurant. Located inside the Four Seasons hotel in the Surfside district of Miami, they have been serving amazing cuisine for a few years now.

It was nice for a change to be going to a different area for a meal than South Beach as it gives me an opportunity to see a different part of Miami. As the weather has now changed here, I can see the people dressing up more than the accustomed beach wear that you normally see.

As I walk through the corridor towards the entrance of the restaurant you can see how nice the interior of the hotel is. Just before entering the plaque of Surf Club is nicely embossed on the wall across from the host stand. The hosts greeted me warmly upon arrival with, a nice bright smile and ushered me to the bar where my reservation was situated. The bar was elegantly decorated, and the bar keepers were formal in their approach on table service. Knowledgeable on both the beverage and food menu they made ordering for me so much easier and more relaxed.

The meal started with the complimentary “crudite” with the house made ranch dressing which was exceptional. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the dressing was delicious. The bread and butter course followed which was still complimentary of course and was magnificent. The dinner roll was so tender and light while the butter was perfect. With these dishes alone I was already quite full, and my meal had not even started yet.

My starter was the half dozen oysters which were nicely presented, and the tartare sauce and mignonette were on point.

The Lamb chops followed, and it was grilled medium rare to my liking and the whipped potatoes that it came with was superb.

At this point I knew that I should not be ordering anything more and just sit back and enjoy the beautiful music being played by the jazz duo but the urge for dessert beat me.

I ordered the K+M Nicaraguan Chocolate cake and it was rich and decadent, the perfect way to end my meal.

I am so happy that I have now found one of my new favorite restaurants here in Miami.
