Lazy Betty

After all the morning fun I had today, I still have a busy afternoon planned out for my last day here in Atlanta. I made my way to Underground Atlanta which was in the city center and was the location for my last exhibit to attend here. Banksy’s Without Limits was stationed at the north end of the Underground which was super cool as the venue’s shops were abandoned and the lighting on the walkway was not fixed. This is the 2nd Banksy exhibit to visit and I have to say that I preferred this one over the Netherlands exhibit that I visited 5 years ago in Amsterdam.

His famous artworks were on display and some new and rare stuff that I’ve never seen before. It was so nice to see my favorite classics like the flame thrower and there is hope pieces and to see the red phone booth structure was super cool. After a fun afternoon of going around the exhibit I had to move to my next appointment which was a quick visit to ASW Distillery at American Spirit Works located at 199 Armour Drive NE in Atlanta. It was unfortunate that the tasting room was closed for a wedding party but they were kind enough to show me the lounge and give me a bottle of their prized single barrel and rye whiskey. There is nothing like a celebration of love to remind you of the important things in life.

Alas my last meal is in order and for my final dinner I was lucky enough to be able to get a reservation at Lazy Betty. Located at 1530 DeKalb Avenue NE it was in the heart of a compound where magic happens. The space was nicely decorated, and the ambience was so welcoming that the moment I entered I was looking forward to sitting down already.

Chef Ian Philipps and General Manager Carl Van Tyle Gilbert, both introduced themselves and wished me a happy meal that signifies the reservation department really does their due-diligence on all their guests.

As each course was served, I was amazed at the flawless execution this team showcases for every single dish. The beverage program was perfectly curated as well, and the wine pairing was phenomenal.

The 8-course tasting was just the right amount of food to consume and did not leave you over fed at the end of the evening. The service was exceptional as well as no dish sat on the pass and was immediately dropped to the guests table and each dish was explained to every detail and similar attention was given to the wines as well.

I am leaving Atlanta with a happy heart because all the fond experiences I’ve had here will turn into beautiful memories…
